Spring Is In the Mountain Air!
Daffodils, hyacinth and crocuses (crocusi??) are srouting their fragrant
heads through frosty morning air here in the mountains and
awakening all across the valley floors.

Nothing is so rich as Springtime in the mountains, where rivers
rush with snowpack run-off, and winter's chill still clings to the
warmth of the morning sunlight glancing off your neighbor's bright red tin roof.

Across the way, a low stone wall and standing chimney guard a lonely
pasture where cattle huddle and chew their hay. And you sit snug and warm,
covered perhaps in a throw or blanket on your front porch, sipping
hot tea or freshly brewed coffee, breathing in the pure, blue air that
covers Ashe County's mountains!
